LVA has been helping adults learn to read better for over 30 years. Our history has been enriched from the contributions of time and resources from our many volunteers and the students we serve.
The work of ProLiteracy/LVA Greater Augusta is guided by a Board of Directors that meet regularly on the first Thursday of each month, except in the summer. The meetings, held at the LVA office, are open to the public. Check the calendar for upcoming meeting dates.
The operation of the organization is guided by By-laws.
What's NewLaubach Literacy (LLI) and Literacy Volunteers of America, Inc. (LVA, Inc.) received the final stamp of approval from the New York Supreme Court and a host of other federal and state agencies. They are now officially merged to form ProLiteracy. Literacy Volunteers of Greater Augusta now comes under the administration of ProLiteracy of America, however, this reorganization shall not affect the outstanding fundamental service that our organization provides.
