Literacy Volunteers of Augusta is searching for a volunteer to become the organization’s Outreach Coordinator. The Board of Directors approved providing the new coordinator a stipend of $5200 a year, plus a mileage allowance.
We’re searching for a person who understands the challenges of adult literacy,” explained Lori Gray, President of LVA. “Our new Outreach Coordinator will head our student recruitment efforts and be the organization’s contact person – the voice of LVA to the local media and communities we serve.”
Responsibilities for the new position will include maintaining regular contact with food banks, health centers, adult education, town governments, area businesses and contacting the media. “We hope to begin reviewing applications in mid-September. The search will continue until we find the right person to promote our organization. The outreach coordinator will report to the Board and have the support of Gail Dyer, our Affiliate Coordinator and the use of the LVA office.”
