Literacy Volunteers of Greater Augusta presents
Team Scrabble®!
Sunday, April 6, 2:00-5:00 PM
At The Senator Inn, Augusta
On Sunday, April 6, 2008 Literacy Volunteers of Greater Augusta will hold our first Scrabble® Tournament at the Senator Inn in Augusta. Participants will be in teams of up to four people who will play 3 rounds of Scrabble against another team of four. Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams (see below for the current list of Prizes)!
Register your team* or as a single player. Cost is $40 per team ($10 per person) and must be submitted with your registration form [pdf] by March 15. (Suggestion: Collect from some pledges ahead of time to use as your registration fee! Simply make a note on the pledge sheet [pdf] if money has already been submitted.)
Collect pledges. Pledge money must be brought to the event on April 6 or submitted earlier at the LV-A office. All proceeds benefit Literacy Volunteers-Augusta.
Practice your Scrabble skills!
*A team consists of up to four people playing together from one letter tray against another four-member team playing from a single letter tray. Singles will be matched with others to form a team or added to a team with less than 4 members. A table with one Scrabble board seats two four-player teams and an official timekeeper.
Prizes:
The following prizes have been donated:
- Two iPod Shuffles
- A Keurig coffee machine
- A picnic tote complete with wine glasses, plates & silverware
- $150 gift certificate to Maple Hill Farm
- Plus lots of gift certificates to area restaurants
How to Register
Complete the official LVA-A Team Scrabble Registration Form [pdf] or in MS-Word format and mail it along with your $40 team registration fee to: Literacy Volunteers of Greater Augusta, 395 Water Street, Suite 103, Augusta, Maine 04330. If you need to find sponsors for your team, use the Pledge Form to help raise your team registration fee.
If you are an individual and still want to play, register as one and we will match you up with others to create a team.
