Literacy Volunteers of Greater Augusta presents the

3rd Annual Team SCRABBLE® Tournament!

Sunday, March 28, 2010, 1:00 - 4:00 PM

At The Senator Inn, Augusta

More fun than ever this year as teams may compete with special "Celebrity Teams"!

It’s as easy as A, B, C!

Register!

Register as a team or as a single player. Single players will be matched with others to form a team of up to 4 members. Team registration fee is $40; individuals may register for $10. All participants must register by March 22.

Here is the Registration form and Pledge form [PDF-243KB]. Please download, print out, fill in, enclose your check and mail in by March 22, 2010.

Collect Pledges!

Players are strongly encouraged to solicit pledges (similar to a walk-a-thon) to sponsor their participation in the tournament. All pledge money must be brought to the event on March 28th.

Lots of prizes!

Special prizes will be awarded to those who bring in the most pledges. There will also be several door prizes. The winning teams will receive a trophy!

Join us for a great game and a great cause!

Rules:

Eligibility: All levels of players are welcome! Teams may register as Competitive or Social. We will attempt to match serious Scrabble players with more competitive teams, however, we cannot guarantee the level of everyone who registers.

Teams: Teams will consist of up to 4 people playing from a single letter tray, against another 4-member team playing from another single letter tray. Teams with less than 4 members may be matched with others to form a full team.

Game Play: All participants must follow official Scrabble rules. Tournament play will consist of three, 30-minute games. Each team will have 3 minutes per turn.
